Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow
(before)
I have been growing my hair ever since grade 2 when some kid at school asked me whether I was a boy or a girl. I have certainly trimmed it frequently but I haven't had a serious hair cut in over 15 years. In high school I considered cutting my hair, but my long hair was so intrinsic to my identity that I simply wasn't willing to part with it.
Tomorrow, as part of "Cuts for Cancer", I'll be parting with 10 inches of my hair to go toward making a wig for a child with cancer. I'm excited and nervous. And while I'm not quite brave enough to "shave in support".. I certainly have a tremendous amount of respect for those who do.
